Abstract: Social justice in general, and justice in education in particular, are always values that every civilized society aims at them. The more developed a society is, the more people appreciate justice in education. It can be said that social justice is one of the important criteria of several (philosophical) schools today. However, although it has been mentioned a lot in political philosophy and educational philosophy’s works, not all schools clearly explain what social justice is? Which social justice theories that schools base on to make their commitments to justice in education? In this article, the author points out some definitions of social justice in education, several ways to classify justice theories in education and denotes some theories of social justice in education that are considered prominent today.
