Currently, there are about 6 million Vietnamese in every continent of the world. With the increasing number of Vietnamese people going abroad for various purposes, new requirements and tasks have been set for the protection of Vietnamese migrants abroad. Therefore, a comprehensive and in-depth study and assessment of the legal issues related to the migration of Vietnamese people abroad and the protection of citizens is extremely necessary. Within the scope of this article, the author focuses on analyzing the current legal regime on the protection of the rights of Vietnamese migrants abroad. From there, the author gives some reviews and recommendations on this issue.Hiện nay, có khoảng 6 triệu người Việt Nam ở khắp các châu lục trên thế giới. Với số lượng người Việt Nam xuất cảnh ra nước ngoài với nhiều mục đích khác nhau ngày càng tăng, đã và đang đặt ra yêu cầu và nhiệm vụ mới cho công tác bảo hộ người Việt Nam di cư ra nước ngoài. Chính vì thế, việc nghiên cứu đánh giá một cách toàn diện và sâu rộng về các vân đề pháp lý liên quan đến di cư của người Việt Nam ra nước ngoài và bảo hộ công dân là việc làm hết sức cần thiết. Trong phạm vi bài viết này, tác giả tập trung phân tích cơ chế pháp lv hiện hành về bảo hộ quyền lợi của người Việt Nam di cư ra nước ngoài. Từ đó, tác giả đưa ra một số ý kiến đánh giá và kiến nghị đốì với vấn đề này.
