A crosssectional descriptive study was conducted on 160 patients admitted to hospital for congestive heart failure (NYHA III,IV). Patients have been taken a Duplex - colour ultrasound 1 or 2 time to detect the deep vein thrombosis. The incidence of deep vein thrombosis in congestive heart failure (NYHA III,IV) is 20%. Location of thrombi: 40.6% at left leg, 31.3% at right leg, 28.1% both legs whereas 87.5% and 12.5% of thrombi was at proximal and both sites, respectively. Thrombi at the root of valve leaflets accounted for 53.1% and at the internal lumen was 46.9%. Most of deep vein thrombosis was blocked incompletely (81.2%). Deep vein thrombosis was detected in 81.3% the first trial, 18.7% the second time.Khảo sát huyết khối tĩnh mạch sau chi dưới bằng siêu âm màu Duplex trên bệnh nhân suy tim nặng. Kết quả nghiên cứu cho thấy tỷ lệ huyết khối tĩnh mạch sâu chiếm 20% ở bệnh nhân suy tim nặng. Chủ yếu huyết khối tĩnh mạch sâu tập trung ở chân trái, đoạn gần và thường gây tắc không hoàn toàn.
