Objectives: To compare the clinical and sub-clinical characteristics with PET/CT for diagnosing recurrence, lymph node metastasis and distant metastasis of the laryngeal cancer and the throat cancer. Subjects and research methods: The study was conducted on 33 patients after being operated with the laryngeal cancer and the throat cancer, under the post-operative follow-up, who were re-examined when suspected to be recurrent or metastatic and were designated with PET/CT Scanning. The research is conducted by the case study method. Results and discussion: The relapse rate among the recurrence-suspected group is 57.5 percent. PET/CT result in detecting the recurrent tumor matching with the clinical and pathological results is 95 percent. PET/CT has detected more cases of lymph node metastasis and more distant metastasis.
