The study is aimed to give proper awareness and the effective use of labor and employment issues in rural areas. Methods of analysis and synthesis of secondary data sources (documents research) were applied. The research results show that: (1) rural labor is involved in all production activities in the sectors of agriculture, industry
(2) employment is all kind of activities generating incomes not prohibited by law
(3) in 2013, the number of employees in the working age accounted for 57,17 percent of population, of which 9.1 percent was trained and 2.77 percent was underemployed
(4) factors affecting employment include population and population structure, economic position, and job creation policies.
