Post-partum stress disorder can lead to serious psychological distress in women. Research on 1,134 women who gave birth in the last 12 months in Ha Noi, Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh city showed that: 17.4 percent women experienced post-partum stress disorder at different levels, of which 11.1 percent women had mild disorder, 4.6 percent women had average disorder, and 1.3 percent women had serious disorder. Stress disorder mainly occurred during the first 3 months after birth and reduced over time.
