The cicada genus Mogannia Amyot & Serville is characterized by its anteriorly protruding postclypeus and was formerly placed in the tribe Moganniini Distant (sensu Metcalf 196330 1963b
Duffels & van der Laan 1985). Hayashi (1976) reviewed the genus Mogannia from Taiwan and toe Ryukyus, illustrated five known species and provided a key to the species as well. According to Hayashi (1976), the genus Mogannia should be allied to Nipponosemia Kato and Emathia Sta1. Lee & Hill (2010) recognized Moganniini as a junior synonym of Cicadatrini Distant and redefined the latter by including Cicadatra Kolenati, Psalmocharias Kirkaldy, Mogannia, Nipponosemia and Emathia. Recently, Pham & Yang (2009) reviewed the family Cicadidae from Vietnam, with provided a list ten species of genus Mogannia. In the present paper the authors reviewed the species of Mogannia from Vietnam, with a key to species of the genus Mogannia from Vietnam is provided.
