Nam Nung Nature Reserve has rather intact forest ecosystem with high biodiversity value. However, understanding about it's fauna, especially Avifauna is limited due to inadequate survey efforts. This survey was conducted in 2010. During the survey, 103 bird species were recorded, of those, 54 species were first recorded in the nature reserve. Combined with previous survey result, the Avifauna of Nam Nung nature reserve has 173 species. They belong to 47 families and 15 orders. In addition, the research results also provided a list of 13 endangered bird species and conservational value. The highest threatened spcies are Great hornbill Buceros bicomis and Germain's Peacock-Pheasant Polyplectron gennaini.
