The hunting, trading and consumption of wildlife has increased markedly to meet human demands, and turtles are one of the vertebrates most affected by this unsustainable harvest with many populations having already been severely depleted or extirpated. A research team has conducted four interview surveys in Dai Loc district, Quang Nam province to evaluate the current status of tortoises and freshwater turtles to determine what measures for turtle conservation are needed. The team collected data on 12 species of Four families (Geoemydidae, Trionychidae and Platystemidae) of tortoises and freshwater turtles.
