The field study on the diversity of mollusca was carried out in Huong river, Hue city from January to May 2013.A total of 28 species of zoobenthos belonging to 20 genera, 13 families, 5 orders were recorded. The most species-rich family is Corbiculidae with seven recorded species (or 25 percent of the total recorded species), followed by Pachychilidae with four species (14.29 percent), Thiaridae, Planorbidat, and Viviparidae with three species each (10.71 percent), and eight remaining families with only recorded species each (or 3.57 percent), including Ampullaridae, Fluminicolidae Fairbankiidae, Lymnaeidae (Gaslropoda)
and Amblemidae, Pisidiidae, Mytilidae. Unionidae (Bivalvia). The authors used the Sorencen (S) similarity index to compare the species composition of zoobenthos in Huong river with other fresh waters in Vietnam. The results showed that the species composition of zoobenthos in Huong river is close to that of the lower section of Hieu river (S = 0.75). Among 28 recorded species of zoo benthos from Huong river, fourteen were also recorded from An Cuu river (S = 0.67). The species composition of zoobenthos in Huong river is most different from that in Red river with the lowest similarity coefficient (S = 0.16).
