In this study, the effect of the imidazole amine catalysts such as 2-ethyl-4-metylimidazol (EMI) and 1,2-Dimethylimidazol (DMI) on the curing process and curing kinetics of the epoxidized linseed oil (ELO) by 4methylhaxahydrophtalic anhydride (MHHPA) has been investigated. The change of temperature vs. curing time was carried out in thermal measuring instrument. Gel content was determined by method of acetone extraction on Soxhlet instruments and Origin software version 9.0 was used to survey the curing process. The results show that, two kinds of above catalyst can be used to promote for the curing process of ELO. In which, using EMI catalyst shows moderate reaction between epoxy group of ELO and anhydride. Inverserly, in the presence of DMI catalyst, the curing process of ELO occurs fastly with high maximum temperature of exothermic. The rising of gel content and curing rate of bioepoxyresin in the presence of DMI catalyst were higher than compare with EMI catalyst.
