The study on 75 patients with chronic heart failure at the Department of Cardiology Internal Medicine of Thaibinh General Hospital conducted from March to July 2014 indicates that: When examining depression level of elderly patients suffering chronic heart failure with Beck scale, it is revealed that the average BDI of this study ranges within 21,01 + or - 9,05, with the lowest point at 6 and the highest point at 49. 90 percent of the studied patients suffer from depression symptoms, 62.1 percent of which seriously suffer depression. The rate of female elderly patients suffering heart failure is higher than that of male patients (62.2 percent versus 61.8 percent), yet the difference is not statistically meaningful.
