Acute pancreatitis have a variety kind of symptoms, then in some cases it makes difficult to take diagnosis or easy to make wrong diagnosis. The Goal: To describe clinical characteristics and laboratory figures of acute pancreatitis in emergency department. Subject and method: prospective descriptive study, all acute pancreatitis patients were admitted in Bach mai hospital from February, 2013 to August, 2013. Results: 115 acute pancreatitis patients were enrolled to the study, the most common symptoms are epigastric pain, nausea and vomiting, hyperthemia, and tarchycardy. Laboratory investigation found elevated serum amylase, increase viscosity, leukocytosis, elevated CRP and metabolic disorder. Conclusion: combination careful examination with laboratory investigation is the very important thing to make the diagnosis of acute pancreatitis in time without mistakes.
