Objectives: describe the character of open tibial fractures
evaluate the results of surgical treatment in Viet Duc University Hospital. Subjects and Methods: Retrospective study in 68 patients who had open tibial fractures from 2011 through 2012. Results: Male/Female ratio was 6/1. Average age was 38,6. 1/3 middle fracture was 52,9 percent. Type IlIA and IIIB open fractures were 73,5 percent. The rate of bone union was 89,7 percent. Conclusion: surgical treatment of open tibia fracture showed good results without severe complications.
