A cross sectional study was conducted in 116 health care facilities at National, provincial, district and commune levels to aim at evaluation of specific situation of occupational health and safety (OSH) in health care fadlities and recommendation of measures for enhancement of OSH activities and health promotion for health care workers. Environmental factors were measured in national health care facilities. 9437 health care workers (HCWs) working in therapeutic and epidemic preventive medicine were interviewed on perceptual current aSH conditions in their health care fadlities. The study results showed that working environment in health care facilities was polluted by several hazardous factors such as microorganism (59.3 percent of samples exceeded Permissible Exposure Limits (PEL), ionizing radiation (4 percent of samples exceeded PEL from 2.8-224 times) and toxic gases (C02, focmon, HCL) exceeded PEL by 1-30 times.The works of HCWs were stressful due to overload, prolonged working time and prevention of epidemics.
