Background: The hospitals of nursing and rehabilitation are facilities specialized in providing rehabilitational services. However, there has not been any research to assess the functional activities of said hospitals, ever since their official functional date. Objectives: To give descriptions of the functional activities of nursing and rehabilitation hospitals in Vietnam in the 2007-2009 period. Methods: A crosssectional study combining with quantitative qualitative methods are implemented on 35 nursing and rehabilitation hospital across the nation. Result: In general, the functional stats of these hospitals increased over time. The coverage of comunity-based rehabilitations rose. Nonetheless, the prevention of disabilities and some directive activities still met up with various obstacles. Conclusion: The Hospitals of nursing and rehabilitation need to improve the quality of their services, at the same time creating new campaigns to spread their network to district and commune levels.
