The study was conducted with the aim of obtaining analysed information on some clinical and endoscopic characteristics of those with the fiberoptic flexible total colonoscopy (FTC) performed in Viet- Tiep hospital for diagnostic purpose. As regards the age of subjects, the analysis showed that patients on those the FTC was indicated are mainly middle-aged subjects with an average age of 51.5 (+/- 1.59). Among subjects involved, there were more women than men with men/women ratio was 0.58/1. In total 277 subjects, the common indications include abdominal pain (61 percent), glaireous stools (40.1 percent), anemia (18.4 percent), rectal tumors identified by clinical examination combined with digital rectal examination (ORE) (0.7 percent). The FTC and combined analyses yielded and revealed various findings ranging from normal endoscopic visualisations (66.8 percent) or benign disorderssuchas inflammatory bowel conditions (11.6 percent), adenomatouspolyps (15.2 percent) tocolorectal cancer (6.5 percent). The morphology and features of pathologic disorders is also described herein.
