The environmental water quality at many shrimp ponds in Tam Giang-Cau Hai lagoon system is declined due to strong pollution with unfavorable culturing conditions. Thus, the assessment and selection of indigenous microorganisms with high degradation capacity of organic wasters as well as constraining shrimp diseases has paid practical and scientific significance. The preliminary inverstigation at shrimp ponds were isolated and identified two indigenous strains of microorganisms, e.g. bacterial strain, V94 and actinomycetes strain, X65 with high potential for the study purposes. The experiments were identified the optimal growth times for V94 and X65 were 72 and 108 hrs, respectively
the optimal pH, temperature and concentration of NaCI for their growth were neutral to low pH, 30-35°C and 0.5-15 thousandth, respectively. Both these strains were also assessed with high capacity for deg radation of protein, cellulose and lipid. Moreover, X65 strain has been shown the ability to inhibit two shrimp's pathogens, Vibrio sp. and Vibrio parahaemolyticus.
