The experiment was conducted in Thuan Chau, Son La to assess bio-agrinomical characteristics and genetic diversity of 50 native rice varieties. Results showed that these rice varieties are different in growing period, mainly in middle-day group. The number of panicles/hill, length of panicles, length and width of leaves, and 1000 grain weight are high diverse. Most of the varieties have long grain and serve as genetic resources for breeding of quality rice. Based on 10 morphological characteristics, 50 native rice varieties were classified into 14 groups of genetic diversity with coefficient of 0.06.
