Son La province is a region that has abundant natural resources and potentiality of land, agriculturt and forestry, however, almost all land here is highly slopping. Traditional cultivation on slopping land usually brings to low yield due to poor soil quality, different levels of soil degradation. In recent years, applying of sustainalbe cultivation, e.g. mini-terrace, soil covering... has been improving plant yield, d quality. To study the relation between springtails (Collembola) and some models of susstainable cultivation, field trips were carried out in maize trials in Chieng Dong commune, Yen Chau, Son La. All results are ana lysed and discussed based on indexes such as species composition, distribution, density, H' index, J' index. The best sustainable cultivation for maize growing on sloping land in Chieng Dong commune, Yen Chau district, Son La province are provided.
