Thanh Tuong is one of four commune in the Tat Ke-Ban Bung nature reserve. It has a total area of 10,653.65 hectares of natural land, of which 9,536.59ha is forestry land, accounting for 89.51 percent of natural land, including special use forest of 3,977.6ha, protection forest of 3,380.83ha, production forest of 2,178.16 hectares. The forest coverage is 87.10 percent. Most of forest area are plantations with two main species: Manglietia conifera, Acacia auriculifonnis. Under canopy of Acacia auriculiformis plantation there is natural regeneration of 34 plant species, 01 which 6 are tree species (Acacia auriculifonnis, Onnosia balansea, Peltophorum tonkinensis, Phoebe tavoyana, Macaranga denticulata, and Litsea monopetala). Under canopy of Manglietia conifera Plantation there is natural regeneration of 21 plant species, of which 5 are tree species (Onnosia balansea, Peltophorum tonkinensis, Phoebe lanceolata, Xylopia vielana, and Phoebe tavoyana). Under the canopy of mixed plantation of Acacia auriculifonnis and Maglietia conifera there are 26 plant species, of which 6 are tree species (Onnosia balansea, Phoebe lanceolata, Peltophorum tonkinensis, Phoebe tavoyana, Xylopia vielana, and Aporosa sphaerospenna). The quality and quantity of natural regeneration in these plantations has been assessed.
