Coolia canariensis (Dinophyta) was isolated from Padina sp. in Nha Trang bay - Khanh Hoa province. Stock algal culture were kept in culture chamber with temperature 26 +/- 0.5°C, light intensity of 3,000 lux, and light:dark cycle of 12/12. The Coolia canariensis was grown at four salinities.: 20, 25, 30 and 35 thousandth for each of the experimental temperatures 20, 23, 26, 29 and 32°C in flask 250 ml with T. medium. The growth rates were rather high at salinities 30 and 35 thousandth in temperatures of 23, 26 and 29°C. C. canariensis grew best at salinity of 30 thousandth and temperatures of 26°C. Maximal division rate was 0,59 +/- 0,39 per two days. The highest cell density reached 8773 +/- 125 cells/ml.
