According to the studied results of the national independent project "Studying scientific bases for solutions to sustainable aquaculture development at Thi Nai lagoon, Binh Dinh province", there are 10 different fields have exploited ihe natural resources of Thi Nai lagoon. However, there has no a specific organizer in charge of the lagoon. integrated management. The total mangrove area at the lagoon was degenerated, remained 12 percent compared with that before. Some seagrass areas disappeared or degenerated seriously because of local human activities. Lack of dissolved oxygen and eutrophication were observed partially at the top of the lagoon. The waste waters from Nhon Hoi economic zone's activities may impact on environmental quality of the lagoon in the near future. Fishery activities have declined. The results of 3 testing integrated-culture models showed that the integrated-culture models were less risk and more effective in term of both economy and environment compared to those of mono-culture.
