Objective: To study the dilatation of obstructed ostia of maxillary, frontal and sphenoid sinuses in treatment chronic rhinosinusitis. Method: A prospective evaluation of sinusotomy on 154 obstructed sinus ostia by using Rielieva balloon catheter devices of AcclarentC.A USA at Trung Vuong Emergency Hospital in Ho Chi Minh city, from May 2010 to December 2014. Results: Successful canulation of 154 obstructed sinus ostia (81 maxillary sinuses, 50 frontal sinuses, 23 sphenoid sinuses) in 89 patients. All of cases did not have complications of orbital cavity or intracranium. After dilatation, symptoms of rhinosinusitis were improved significantly. Conclusion: Balloon sinuplasty is an innovation of FESS to preserve of the function of rhinosinus mucosa and dilate sinuses with safety, feasibility and effectiveness.
