Objective: To determine the results of gastric pull-up reconstruction for pharyngolaryngoesophagectomy for hypopharynx and cervical esophageal carcinoma. Methods: Ten patients with carcinoma of hypopharynx and cervical esophagus underwent totallaryngopharyngo-esophagectomy with gastric pull-up procedure in 1 year at Cho Ray ENT deparment. Results: The mean age was 63. Reasons for consulting a doctor are dysphagia, some pain with swallowing, hoarse voice. Mean hospital stay was 11.4 days, mean of day when patient can return to successful feeding was 7.8 days. Pbstoperative complications were regurgitation, dumping syndrome, hypocalcemia, stenosis at the anastomosing site, tracheal rupture. Conclusion: This method is effective and should be regard as a method of choice in reconstructive surgery after pharyngo-Iaryngoesophagectomy.
