In 2014, the growth rate of gross domestic products (GDP) of Thai Nguyen province reached 20 percent, three times as much as that in 2013 (6.7 percent), which is mostly contributed by the activities of major projects such as Samsung and Nui Phao. These projects, which were completed and went into production, have promoted the socio-economic development of the province, which is the result of not only the concentration of resources and business investment promotion but also positive impacts fTom the local authorities, among which the most decisive factor
is the leadership and direction of the Provincial Party, People's Council and People's Committee. Through research and analysis of indicators and data, the author has found the "core" factors affecting the province's economic growth in 2014, including specific sectors and units (micro factors) and the guidelines and policy decisions of the provincial government (the macro factors). Besides, some orientations of economic development of the province in future are proposed.
