In the paper production process, moisture stability control plays an important role fn the quality of the paper. Moisture content of the paper is controlled indirectly by regulating the steam pressure, this control loop is performed by the PID controller. In practice, there is an overshoot in the pressure leading the unstable moisture content of the paper. This paper gives a solution to overcome this phenomenon of the pressure regulator which remains the. PID feedback control system. By adding two feedforward controllers based on a new approach on the model of pressure process described by a model having an intergral, a pole, a zero with a time delay, two feedforward controllers drive the closed loop system to obtain the first order with time delay behavior of the output pressure. The feedforward controllers give a smoother performance in setpoint response in the comparison with the PID feedback controller. The output process does not have overshoot and the humidity will be more stable than PID control.
