In this paper, the authors propose a mechanism to control the marking (drop) packets in the BLUE active queue management. To improve the quality of video transmission, the authors have built the control function to mark (drop) the packet based on the buffer size at the router, the status of the network and the characteristics of the video stream encoding mpeg. The proposed method was experimented by simulation on NS-2 platform, using objective measurement for video quality. PSNR (dB) obtained through simulation experiments on IP network pnvironment. The results showed that the quality of video transmission at the receiver improved approximately 8.8 percent compared with the original BLUE queue.
