Solid foams have been received great attention due to their novel properties. In the last decade, solid foams were used as a catalyst support for many chemical reactions in order to overcome some shortcoming of the conventional support (bead, sphere, extrnded). In this paper, the measurement and calculation of the effective thermal conductivity of the solid beta silicon carbide foams is performed. The as-obtained data were used for the calculation models published in literature fa simulate in order to find the intrinsic thermal conductivity of this material.
