Carbohydrates are synthetically challenging molecules with essential biological functions in all living systems. The selective synthesis and modification of carbohydrates are crucial for investigating their biological functions. Controlling chemo-, regio-, and stereoselectivity is a central theme in carbohydrate synthesis.
