In this research, the microcellular injection molding using the Gas Counter Pressure (GCP) combined with the Dynamic Mold Temperature Control (DMTC) was developed. After the molding process finished, the surface roughness, the skin layer thickness and the foam uniformity of the part were estimated. The result shows that when the GCP was used, the surface roughness will be decreased about 90 percent, the skin thickness will be raised from 300 pm to 700 pm, but the weight reduction ratio will be reduced from 14 percent to 4 percent. Furthermore, with the higher mold temperature, the surface layer was thinner, and the cell size became significantly non-uniform. In general, the skin thickness and the cell size could be achieved efficiently by the combination of GCP and DMTC.
