Vietnam has been assessed as one of the countries facing the largest impact of severe weather phenomena in the last twenty years. Thus, the lives of the people living in these areas depend a lot on the weather and natural conditions. Climate change poses major challenges for them in poverty reduction and maintaining sustainable livelihood. Studying vulnerable groups and the reasons for vulnerability has significant importance in proposing solutions for coping with the impacts of climate change. For poor households or the poor, agriculture is usually their main source of income
however, agriculture is the most vulnerable to the impacts of climate change. In the paper, the research focused on identifying the impacts of climate change on the livelihood of rural households, particularly agricultural livelihood, and assessing the adapting ability of poor households in coastal areas in the North of Vietnam, case study in Thai Binh province.
