Through field surveys in 70 langsat (Lansium domesticum Corr) orchards in three districts of Cho Lach (Ben Tre province), Vung Liem and Tra On (Vinh Long province) from August 2009 to August 2010, 28 insect pests belonging to 4 orders (Lepidoptera, Homoptera, Coleoptera and Diptera) were recorded
the Lepidoptera were predominant with 17 species. The bark borers were the most damaging ones and present with 11 species belonging to the order Lepidoptera, and were found in 96.07 percent of the surveyed orchards and on 73 percent of the surveyed plants. Sactracera dorsalis Hendel, Tirathaba ruptilinea (Walker) and Planococcus sp. were also important pests on Lansium domesticum.
