The paper report the appearance and fluctuations of bean pod borers Maruca vitrata and Etiella zinckenella in Hanoi area. From March to May Maruca vitrata is an abundant species in bean fields
it prefers cultivated legume crops. Meanwhile Etiella zinckenella is an abundant species on infested wild legume plants. There are five larval parasitoids reared from Maruca vitrata: Therophilus javanus, T. marucae, T. robustus (Braconidae), Trathala flavo - orbitalis, and Sinophorus sp (Ichneumonidae). Of those Therophilusjavanus is the most abundant species (62.5 percent). Five larval parasitoids were reared from Etiella zinckenella, viz., Apanteles hanoii, A. taragamae, Bracon sp., Tropobracon luteus (Braconidae) and Trathala flavo - orbitalis (Ichneumonidae). Apanteles hanoi is the dominant species (76.7 percent). the species is mainly reared from the leafroller Omiodes indicata on legume crops. Among the complex of larval parasitoids from Maruca vitrata and Etiella zinckenella the Ichneumonid Trathala flavo - orbitalis Is the only species occurring on both pests on bean crops.
