Studies were conducted at mountainous provinces of northern Vietnam in order to investigate the species composition of insect pests and mites on plum and peach trees. The survey revealed a total number of 69 pests
belong to 26 families and 7 orders of insects and mites in some mountainous provinces of northern Vietnam, of which 67 species damage plum and 49 species damage peach. Twelve species, viz. the aphids Phorodon humuli, Brachycaudus cardui
beetle Colasposoma Dauricum auripenne, Colaspoides sp., Platymycterus sieversi, Phyllobius sp.
tip moth Cydia sp.
leaf eating Actias selene, Setora sp.
oriental fruit fly Bactrocera dorsalis, Pear fruit fly Bactrocera pyrifoliae and Red mite Panonychus sp. have been recorded as common pests in plum, the aphids Phcirodon humuli and Brachycaudus cardui
oriental fruit fly and Pear fruit fly are the most important pests. There are only eight common pests and tip moth on peach, viz., Oriental fruit fly and Pear fruit fly were recorded as serio.us pests.
