In this paper, the authors present the results of a study of termite biodiversity in Ba Vi National Park, Hanoi. . A total of 52 species belonging to 3 families (Kalotermitidae, Rhinotermitidae and Termitidae)i,.6 subfamilies and 14 genera was found. Twelve species are new for the fauna of Vietnam, and 3 genera (Pericapritermes, Pseudocapritermes and Bulbitermes), 24 species recorded for the first time in the studied area. Degree of similarity according to Sorensen indices between termite community of the studied area and the ones of other National Parks (Tam Dao, Xuan Son. Cat Ba and Bach Ma) was rather low (from 19.53 to 37.36). It showed the biodiversity of termite community in Ba Vi National Park. ,The distribution of termites in the altitude bands in the studied area was also different. In the altitude bands lower than 700 m, the fungus growing termites (Macrotermitinae) dominated the area
but in the altitude higher than 700 m the non fungus growing termites (Nasutermitinae, Kalotermitinae and Heterotermitinae) were dominant.
