Landslide hazard zoning was performed in the study area mainly by means of the map-overlay procedure
particularly the authors produced landslide-zoning maps based on eight criteria (slope, hydrogeology, fracture. annual precipitation, vegetation. vertical line segment cuts, horizontal line segment cuts, weathered crust, and five selected sensitivity levels to landslides (very low, low, medium, high and very high). Eight zoning component maps were overlaid by means of spatial analysis in GIS environment through the integration of component maps with available software to produce landslide-zoning maps. As a result, a landslide-zoning map was created for the study area with five levels and statistics of landslide risk levels according to area ratio were also recorded.
