 The occurrence of secondary choroidal neovascularization (CNV) is a complication in patients with chronic central serous chorioretinopathy. The diagnosis is made using multimodal imaging. The treatment usually includes intravitreal anti-vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) injections. A combination with photodynamic therapy can be useful
  however, the response to anti-VEGF treatment is significantly reduced compared to other indications for CNV, so that an irreversible decrease of visual acuity often remains.
