Abstract: Venous-arterial (VA) extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) provides mechanical circulatory support for pabents in cardiogenic shock dute to myocardibs. The weaning process is still highly dependent on the single center's expenence and individual clinical practice. This study, the authors reduced the flow to weaning ECMO for the patents. Purpose: To describe clinical and subclinical characteristics of patients with acute fulminant myocarditis performed to weaning VA ECMO. Subjects and methods: Retrospective and observational study. From hospital databases, 36 patients with diagnosis of acute fulminant myocarditis treated with VA ECMO were found and analyzed. Mean age was 35.2 ± 13 years, 27 patients were women. Results: Cardiac recovery with ECMO weaning was achieved in 32 patients (88.9%), survival to hospital discharge occurred in 31 patients (86.1%). In the study didn't have senous complications as stnske, pulmonary embolism, hemorrhage, complication were observed in 4 patients (11.1%) thrombotic.
