An introduction to the development of a database for the Southwest region is currently being kept at the Social Science Library of the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences, managed by the Institute of Social Sciences Information. This is the most original, rich, diverse, reliable and invaluable source of documents in the evidence and in-depth study of historical issues in the Southwest region, of great significance, contributing to establishing a scientific basis for the Southwest region's development strategy in the fields of economy - culture - society and protection. security and national sovereignty.Giới thiệu về việc xây dựng bộ tư liệu về vùng Tây Nam Bộ hiện đang được lưu giữ tại Thư viện Khoa học xã hội của Viện Hàn lâm Khoa học xã hội Việt Nam, do Viện Thông tin Khoa học xã hội quản lý. Hàng trăm tư liệu bao gồm nhiều lĩnh vực như lịch sử, khảo cổ, văn hóa, nhân học, tôn giáo, địa chí... liên quan đến vùng Tây Nam Bộ đã được khảo sát, lựa chọn và phân loại từ hàng chục ngàn tên tài liệu có trong kho của Viện Viễn Đông Bác Cổ (EFEO) do Pháp bàn giao lại cho Việt Nam từ năm 1957. Đây là nguồn tư liệu gốc, phong phú, đa dạng, tin cậy nhất và vô giá trong khảo chứng và nghiên cứu sâu các vấn đề lịch sử vùng Tây Nam Bộ, có ý nghĩa to lớn góp phần thiết lập cơ sở khoa học cho chiến lược phát triển vùng Tây Nam Bộ trên các lĩnh vực kinh tế - văn hóa - xã hội và bảo vệ an ninh, chủ quyền quốc gia.
