in period of 47 years (1960-2007), there were 13 storms that landed, directly in coastal zone of Hai Phong. When they landed, heavy rain, strong wind, rising water often happened. Maximum wind speed in the storms could reach about 46m/s (1996, 2003). Most storms originate from western Pacific Ocean or East Vietnam Sea. After landing, they were reduced to tropical depression. Research of rising water at that time when storms landed coastal zone of Hai Phong showed that water rose over 60cm, and there were 5 storms that made water rise from 100cm or over.
