Đã tiến hành áp dụng và so sánh 3 phương pháp thiến bò đực tại 6 trại bò Holstein Friesian (HF)ở thành phố Mỹ Tho và huyện Châu Thành, tỉnh Tiền Giang trong thời gian từ 01/06/2016 đến ngày30/08/2017. Tổng số 30 con bò đực HF lai (6-8 tháng tuổi) được bố trí ngẫu nhiên vào 3 lô thí nghiệm,mỗi lô 10 con, được thiến theo các phương pháp khác nhau: thiến bằng kìm Burdizzo, thiến bằng kìm cảitiến K.T.H và phẫu thuật cắt bỏ hai dịch hoàn. Kết quả nghiên cứu cho thấy thời gian thiến bằng kìm cảitiến K.T.H là ngắn nhất (4,3 ± 0,86 phút), không chảy máu và thời gian sưng bao dịch hoàn sau khi thiến làngắn nhất (4,5 ± 1,08 ngày), thời gian bò bị đau ngắn (10,8 ± 1,14 ngày) và phục hồi sức khỏe nhanh (11,8± 1,14 ngày), chi phí thiến thấp nhất 36.000 đồng/ca thiến và chi phí chế tạo kìm K.T.H thấp, chỉ bằng½ giá kìm Burdizzo. So sánh với các phương pháp khác thì thiến bò đực bằng kìm K.T.H là ưu việt nhất.Three bull castration methods were applied and compared at 6 Holstein Friesian (HF) cattle farmsin My Tho city, Chau Thanh district, Tien Giang province from 1 June 2016 to 30 August 2017. Atotal of 30 HF bulls (6-8 months old) were randomly allocated in to three treatments. Each treatmentwas applied with a different castration method, such as: Burdizzo castration pliers method, K.T.Hcastration pliers method and castration surgery method. The studied results showed that the K.T.Hcastration pliers method spent the shortest castration time (4.3 ± 0.86 minutes), without bleeding, thescrotal sac swollen time after castration was shortest (4.5 ± 1.08 day), the recovery and pain time ofthe bulls were also shortest (10.8 ± 1.14 days), and (11.8±1.14 days), respectively. The castrationcost was low, around 36,000 VND per case only and the cost of K.T.H castration pliers was equalto half of Burdizzo pliers cost. It is considered that the K.T.H castration pliers method is the best incomparison with other castration methods.
