Due to the strong trend of industrialization in the East Asia region from the second half of the 20th century, many countries in the region have changed their strategies towards developing the economy towards international integration. As an agricultural country in the 50s and 60s of the twentieth century, Thailand quickly turned to an "extrovert" strategy and became an agricultural-industrial country since the 1980s (20th century). The paper clarifies the outstanding development of the Thai economy in the region's trend of industrialization and international integration from the second half of the 20th century.
