The construction of artificial islands of countries is not new in practice and in international law, but the legal issues surrounding this activity still have many unclear points in the maritime law system in particular and international law in general. In addition, the fact that China has built and equipped military equipment on its artificial islands in the East Sea generates more legal questions that need to be clarified. In view of this situation, consideration should be given to the application of international legal counsel, which is, in particular, an international court of law of the sea, to resolve legal issues related to construction activities of artificial islands.
