Inequality between social strata of residential property (the value of the main accommodation, the type of main house, residential land or other housing) represents the current social polarization in Vietnam, one pole is the upper class (upstream) has the main accommodation property than the other pole including the remaining classes. At the same time, the paper explains that the social stratification model in the form of a "pyramid" with a small middle class, has created a situation of double-stratified society during the Doi Moi period. The author predicts that by the time Vietnam has completed industrialization and become an industrialized country, the social structure will have a large middle class and the current two-tiered status will change and inequality between social classes will decrease.
