Art is a part of culture, it is also a product created by people, but at the same time, it has implications for human life. As one of the unique art forms of Japan, undergoing the period of formation, development, Japanese wood carvings (Ukiyo-e) not only affirmed the artistic value in the scope of countries but also in the world. The article explores the history of Ukiyo-e's formation and development from the end of the seventeenth century to the Meiji Restoration period, is a period of shaping and making major changes in this type of painting, thereby approaching with Japanese culture through the art path.
