Gerard Genette is an intertextuality theorist. He pointed out the methods of transposition from "hypotext" to "hypertext" which are: excision, reduction, amplification and transmotivization. Simultaneously, Genette cited by many film adaptations. However, through the study and practice, we realize that the proposed method Genette suggested did not cover all practicalness of transfer phenomenon. From Genette's hints about the methods of transposition, as well as, based on scientific theories of psychology, hope that can expand the connotation of Genette's concepts to find out the concepts covering the phenomenon of adaptation, evidenced by the novel and movie "The Da Vinci code".
