King Le Thanh Tong reformed the state apparatus through the examinations to evaluate mandarins to have grounds for commendation, promotion or reduction, and eliminating those who worked ineffectively. Up to now, the lessons from that reform still remain intact and are valuable experiences in the current state administrative reform.
