Position-based recruitment of civil servants is stipulated in legal documents including the Law on Cadres and Civil Servants 2008 and other guiding documents. There have been both success and challenges in position-based recruitment of civil servants in state administrative agencies in Vietnam. Therefore, it is necessary to improve the related legal regulations and make solutions for position-based recruitment of civil servants in order to enhance civil servant recruitment in Vietnam at present.
