This research was aimed at evaluating effects of supplementing enzymes, organic acids, bentonite to the diet on N and P excretion and hydrogen sulfide and ammonia emissions from slurry of 20-50 kg pigs. The experimente was done on 30 Duroc x F1 (Landrace x Yorkshire) crossbred pigs with initial body weight of 19.8 percent 1.8 kg. The experiment was arranged in a randomized complete block design with one factor inlucing one control = without supplementing enzymes, organic acids, bentonite and four treatments (i) control+enzymes
(ii) control+organic acids
(iii) control + enzymes + organic acids
(iv) control + bentonite. Air emitting from the manure pit was collected to measure ammonia and hydrogen sulfide emission. Slurry samples were collected to measure slurry chemical characteristics of dry matter, pH, N and P contents. Results showed that supplementing enzymes
organic acids
enzymes + orgnic acids
bentonite to the diet reduced 44 percent NH3 emission from the slurry and 49 percent reduction H2S emission compared to the control (P0.05). Supplenting enzymes
organic acids
enzymes + organic acids to the diet reduced 45 percent NH3 emission from slurry and 43 percent reduction of H2S emission compared to supplenting bentonite, respectively (P0.05). No significant diferences in NH3 and H2 semission from slurry were found between suppleneting enzymes
organic acids separately to the diet compared to supplementing both enzymes and organic acids to the diet. No significant diferences in NH3 and H2S emission from the slurry were found between suppleneting enzymes compared to supplementing organic acids. It is recommended that supplenenting enzymes and organic acids to the diet to reduce NH3 and H2S emissions from pig slurry.
